Man Can Fly

 Wrestling with yourself

 Fighting who you should be

Indecisive on the course of reality

In a dream world you live

Struggling to exist

Nothing is making any sense

In the world you now subsist

In your mind somewhere lost

Trapped in a demented sphere

Crying out for help but

No one hears

Listening to voices that

 Are not there

Only in your mind do you hear

Whispers’ telling you lies

That man can fly

Going through a transformation

On a spiritual journey

Opening your mind to

Unknown entities as your

 Mentality is rocked with

 More confusion

Disillusioned to what is real

And you are asking yourself

Will I ever heal?

In the abyss you call home

Praying for the norm to

Return to your life

The whispers continue

To overpower your thinking

Voices becoming louder

Mingling with tears

You cry from frustration and pain

Relief will not come

As they tell you

Man can fly come join us

Longing

I hear the longing in your voice
The wistful way memories navigate from
Your lips
In hopes to resurrect some emotion
That is now long dead
Penitent actions originated too late
Apologies you don’t think you owe
Or are deserved
Atonement for causing cataclysmic destruction
You give with a shrug to you it was
No harm no fowl
All is forgiven in your one-sided lie
All reminiscences buried in the sea of tears
Every reflection is shatter with a stone
You reach out your hand
I only stare
Now you want to be my shelter
Too late the storms came tore my world down
In the aftermath I was left still standing
The longing you hear in my voice
Is only for you to vanish just as the fog rolls
Back out to sea and evaporates

In Limbo

There is no simple yes or maybe
Black or white slight shades of grey
The defining line between today and tomorrow
Reality unravels
Hope becomes a figment of the imagination
Ambiguity lingers in the air
Out of your grasp slips fragile possibilities
From eyes tears rally to fight a battle lost
In the end decisions still remain unclear
Leaving you suspended in limbo
