When

When do you just let it go and accept what you now know?

When it’s all said and finished don’t let that voice keep telling you

It was all your fault

When does the anger subside?

When does the hurt end and the healing begin?

When are you able to awaken from a nightmare created?

When do you stop hating decisions made in the light of passion?

When in the dark of desire, it all made sense

When will the rage built up turn to embers and segue to ash?

When will the duplicity be understood?

When will the betrayal no longer matter?

When will life return to what’s normal and all thoughts revert

Back to a positive mind

When will the silent tears stop falling and the sunshine is more welcomed?

When will the guilt be lifted?

When does the end become the beginning?

When it takes only one to undo what vows were taken

When does a god you pray to hears your please?

And take vengeance

When do you stop asking questions?

You know the answers to

When, when, when…

Enmity

She once thought their love was seraphic

A taste of euphoria swept over her

When thoughts of him crossed her mind

How she loved the smell of him

Even his sweat was liquid gold

Pouring from his pores

To hear his voice resonated comparable to

 A Nightingale

Singing in tune to his every step

When he would look upon her

His gaze resting on that special part of her

She feared she’d never drink in enough

Of him

Her prince her king her nightmare

She gave of herself unselfishly

Putting his desires above her own

What a fool she was to give so much and

To receive so little

Her prince her king her nightmare

And when his words turned to evil enunciations

More destructive than physical blows

Leaving no visible scars

But a broken heart and trampled upon

Soul

She began to question her worth

Her prince her king her nightmare

Anger began to creep into her crevices'

Whereas love once roomed

Love turned slowly into hate eating away at her

Entrails consuming, destroying the person

She once was

Her prince her king her nightmare

Enmity

Sarafina

Every night she took her place
Seated on top of the baby grand piano
Closed her eyes letting the riffs
From the the ivories invade her soul
Smoke made a halo above her head
A white rose adorned the baby grand
...which was her signature mark
Inhaling deeply she lost her- self
Becoming a part of the song
Belting out the lyrics in her euphonious voice
Spinning a spell over the crowd
…pulling them in
Beguiling the men with her body
 and women  she connected
… with her lyricism
No one knew what she endured
All they witness was a woman sitting
on top a piano singing a song
But if they listened closely to her lyrics
They’d know of the abuse she endured
Both physical and mental
Covering up the black eyes with make-up
…that will fade in time
But the scars left on her body
Hidden beneath her clothes forever
A reminder that a man who once loved
Her turn the beautiful colors she use
To see through eyes filled with
Hope ,love, compassion to
disdain, cynical, her truth
Sleepless nights from crying her heart out in silence
She thank god her womb was closed and she
Didn’t have to worry about bringing children
Into her madness
Still every night she did the one thing that kept
Her sanity
She sang that same song people heard
…and never tired of  hearing every night
Maybe the tone would be altered
the verses rearranged, but her words
she never changed
It was her song and no one else could sing it only
