Extinction

 Love once so pure
Untainted by the world
Lived to breathe truth and honesty
Unblemished untouched by negativity
In prisoned in its own environment
Protected secure impenetrable
To evil forces
Slowly love begin to wonder away
From its purity
Exploring new dimensions
Inviting in outside forces

Peace

Love is the beginning and the end
Peace is accomplished with acceptance of knowing our true heart
Unity happens when we embrace one another for
our uniqueness

Sarafina

Every night she took her place
Seated on top of the baby grand piano
Closed her eyes letting the riffs
From the the ivories invade her soul
Smoke made a halo above her head
A white rose adorned the baby grand
...which was her signature mark
Inhaling deeply she lost her- self
Becoming a part of the song
Belting out the lyrics in her euphonious voice
Spinning a spell over the crowd
…pulling them in
Beguiling the men with her body
 and women  she connected
… with her lyricism
No one knew what she endured
All they witness was a woman sitting
on top a piano singing a song
But if they listened closely to her lyrics
They’d know of the abuse she endured
Both physical and mental
Covering up the black eyes with make-up
…that will fade in time
But the scars left on her body
Hidden beneath her clothes forever
A reminder that a man who once loved
Her turn the beautiful colors she use
To see through eyes filled with
Hope ,love, compassion to
disdain, cynical, her truth
Sleepless nights from crying her heart out in silence
She thank god her womb was closed and she
Didn’t have to worry about bringing children
Into her madness
Still every night she did the one thing that kept
Her sanity
She sang that same song people heard
…and never tired of  hearing every night
Maybe the tone would be altered
the verses rearranged, but her words
she never changed
It was her song and no one else could sing it only

Trust

Togetherness forms a union
Refused to be broken
United in bond of hope
Souls breathing for intimacy
Tangled in the web of belief
                                                Unity
                                                       Love
                                                              Peace

                                                                   Trust

War Inside of Me

See there’s a war going on inside of me
With my heart and mind wanting two different things
My heart is saying it wants love
My mind is telling me you’re just fine the way you are
Which one do I listen to?
A heart that’s been broken one time to many
Probably is bias by now
A mind that has struggled to make sense of the pain
Still the battle rages and the war is going strong
Heart and mind each one trying to define love and pain
Pain and love
Two strong emotions egotistical both wanting to win
In the war inside of me
Trust not the blind emotion
Forget not the transgressions
The pendulum is swinging in violent agitation
Mind, heart, which one are you going to abide by
Mind…
Heart….

Mind…
Heart…

War inside of me continues

All About the Ring

Beauty that shines like the stars in heaven

Sensual comfort fit

Wrapped neatly around your finger

How many diamonds does it have?

Is the clarity bad?

Does it outshine the moon?

Can it be seen across the vast seas?

Will it bring you contentment?

The larger the more happiness promised

Is your love measured by how massive the stone is?

Is your heart so shallow that the only thing

Conceived is the price tag hanging from it

What happens if it’s lost or stolen?

Will your love suddenly fade away?

How much more do you treasure

The superficial piece of happily ever after

What if there was no ring presented to you

Would your love suddenly get amnesia

Is it more important than the heart that’s

Offering you a spiritual connection

In the end it’s been all about the ring

Not what it should stand for

When Love Comes Knocking

When love comes knocking at your door
Waiting to capture you away in its arms
Will you peek through your peep hole?
To see who it is
Or will you take a leap of faith and
Open the door so love can walk in
Tango with your soul
Having your emotions tightly held in an embrace
Body and earth spinning out of control
Has your heart been stepped on one time too many
And the knock is representing your pain with each rhythmic sound
Taunting you daring you to open the door to your heart
So it can come in and take possession
Or do you take a chance and forgive, heal the hurt
Let love saunter on in to mesmerize you with passion
How many times does it take to get it right?
How many opportunities do we get to love again?
You ask yourself what if I get hurt once more and this
Dance ends like all the rest, leaving your heart heaving
Yet still unfulfilled
Debating on opening the door as the knock becomes louder
The vibration of the pounding matching the uncertainty of
Your heart beats
Let me in to love you as you should be loved
Echoes each cannonade tempo
When love knocks will you open the door?
Embrace your future
Or ignore it and live forever wondering…

Familiarity

I know your touch
Your smell
The way you walk
Wear your hair
You are a familiarity
Close my eyes I see
Every inch of you
Know what you taste like
Finish your sentence
Ease into a life acquainted
With your essence
Fluently my body conveys
A linguistic only you can interpret
You are
I am
We become
One familiarity

Love Me Some You

Lay with me
Only never to arise
Varying degrees of passion
Erupt between two bodies

Mesmerized by the desire reflected in your eyes
Envisioning lips caressing my secrets

Selfishly I want more
Ominous emotions emergence
Mirrored hunger undeniable
Echo of voices crying out in pleasure

Yielding to the fire burning
On my way to finding
Utopia as I love me some you

Jaded Love

Love is a complicated emotion
Betrayal defines the intricate lines
Between love and hate
Jaded perceptions of
What love is supposed to mean
Should mean, could mean
Loses its definition
And clarity becomes blurred
With right and wrong
Byzantine inclinations lure away
Innocence trapping it in defiled
Annotations of excuses

Shattered Glass

Shattered glass broken promises
Fine crystal to carry a heart upon
A bed of delicate truths
Love is an assortment of
Lies gently concealed in a guise
In its attempt to lure you away
From seeing what is real
Each shattered piece represents
The years of a life spent chasing
A fairy-tale without a prince
No more broken promises
No bed of delicate crystal
Only the hard unadulterated
Facts remain
Shattered glass can’t be put back
Together again

February

Freedom to remember the past
Essential connection to your roots
Bring people together of all races
Romantic interludes
Undeniable attractions
Assets in a day of adoration
Road to discover a month filled
Yielding both love and discovery

Altruistic Vibrations

Music down low
Candles lit across the room
In the corner a fire burns casting a glow
Shadows dance along the barren walls
Bed covered in rose petals
Sweet scent tantalizing a starved soul
Champagne and two flutes wait silently
Chocolate covered strawberries for the palate
Outside the wind howls
Soon to intermingle with the soft moans to come
Snow drifts softly against the windowpane
Dreamily the scene is set
In anticipation of altruistic vibrations

The Unknown

I can’t discipline the forces that
Lurk seeking to devour happiness
To stop my soul from soaring
My mind to create
My spirit from breathing
My heart from loving
If granted all that would be
Left is an empty shell
Of what use to be

December

Dearest to my heart
Everlasting love
Caresses in the night
Embers inflamed to passion
Merry souls dance
Breathing in and out
Expressions of giving
Remains forever this
    December night

The End

Beautiful words put into verse convey all the things
She couldn't say but desired too
Their time had come full circle and now
She was ready to move on
He didn't want their love to end
Couldn't understand why she was
Walking away from him
Something’s aren't meant to be assumed
Love comes, love dies
That’s part of the mystery of life
As the verse entered its next stanza
She gave him one last glance over her shoulder
As the song slowly played out
She carefully walked out the door
Her farewell to an
End to a love song

Caught in the Cross Fire

Camouflage in a war of desire
A love triangle
United in hearts battle
Glorified victory of soul of love
Honor belongs to no one
Trenches can’t conceal deceit

Inglorious esteem breathes contempt
Noble pride reaps sin

Tempestuous passions erupt
Hedonistic sojourns grief of dying love
Evoking a pledge of allegiance

Careless loyalty abandons hope
Resurrect a grave of loneliness
Obituary of lies fall from lips
Self- indulgent remorse
Shadows forgiveness

Freedom sounds for whom
Illicit acts caught in a moment of time
Revile intelligence of common sense
Eons of casualty of heart lie in a vacant field
            Caught in the cross fire

The Idea of You

It’s not you that I miss
Not your smell or your scent
It isn’t even your presence
There’s just something that keeps the idea of you alive
For good or bad haven’t quite fished through that one yet
Still the memories float around in my mind
Ideas of what I wished you to be yet you were
Never meant to be
Sunset walks along the shore climb Mt. Everest
Swim the Atlantic Ocean
Ideas only formulated in my dreams
Steamy sweat soaked sheets
Hands roaming over my body
Ideas of a lover who knew how to make
Love and receive it back
Desire so strong I smelled it
Before I caught a whiff of you
Ideas of only what I hoped to form
Into reality stay hidden in the idea of you

Nice and Slow

He looked over at her picture of loveliness
So serene in her sleep
Vision of gentle creation, his to have and behold
A gift of perfection, somewhere in his life he must
Of did something good
His treasure of the finest gold, diamonds, rubies and pearls
She smiled in her slumber all sweet and sexy
He felt his nature begin to rise
One hand crept beneath the covers
Inching its way up her golden thighs
Still she remained deep in slumber
He became bolder tasting her sweet nectar
She gave a moan letting him know
He’d invaded her dream
She surrendered her soul to the
Music of his hands the way they
Were making love to her body
Nice and slow he kept on repeating
Unhurried he stripped the sheet away
Covering her naked body
Nice and slow he eased into her warm and inviting
Taking her to a new place far beyond heaven
She awaken dreamy eyes gazed into his
As she repeated his words
Nice and slow, nice and slow
